CHIP TRADES

I have recently re-entered the hobby after a couple years off.  There are a lot of gaps in my collection; I am interested in any $1 chips that I don’t currently have – I need most cruise ships, as well as chips from casinos in every state and province.  I am also willing to trade for low-denomination chips from vacation destinations such as the Caribbean, Australia, England, etc.

I am in interested in trading dollar for dollar.  I am willing to trade fractionals for other fractionals or for dollar chips.

Several $5 chips are shown on my trade page.  I will trade these for equal amounts in dollar chips.  I am no longer collecting $5 chips, and felt it would be better to offer them for trade them to cash them in at the casinos.

Also available are a couple $1 slot tokens.  I am no longer collecting these, and offer them for $1 chip trades.

I recently purchased a collection and have not had time to fully catalog everything that I’ll be selling or trading away.  I have made quick scans of chips, and you can link to them here.  There is a mixture of obsolete, current, limited edition, used, mint condition, everything from 25 cents to 25 dollars – just a whole mix of stuff.  Feel free to make trade offers, but keep the following in mind:

Offers should be of comparable condition and rarity

I collect $1 and lower; I don’t need $2 or higher, so any offers should be in $1 chips or fractionals.  Roulettes: trade for other roulettes I need, or for 2 x $1 chips.

NEWS: I have added a page of select German casinos I visited in early 2008.  Many of the chips and tokens are for sale.  GERMANY PAGE     FOREIGN CHIPS FOR SALE

NEWS: Ontario – As I traveled the province in July, 2007, I discovered that the Thousand Islands and Brantford casinos were phasing in new chips bearing the logo of OLG, the province’s regulatory agency.  The older chips were still in play.  This naturally led to the question: will other OLG casinos be adopting new chips, too?  I visited the Point Edward casino in October, 2007, and it still was using its older chips.  However, the OLG logo is popping up on signage, table surfaces, and elsewhere, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the OLG logo eventually appears on Point Edward’s chips.  Point Edward is a small casino, and its chips – though in circulation for seven years now – are still in pretty good condition.  You can see the current chip on my CANADA trading page.  I also visited Casino Sault Ste. Marie in October.  The OLG logo was less prevalent, but the casino is undergoing renovations.  Although most chips were still in good shape, the $1 chips are hideously damaged, with the rims missing hunks of plastic.  Let’s hope they get new chips up there.  The current chips can be seen on the UP/Soo page.

NEWS: From Atlantic City, the Tropicana and Trump Taj Mahal currently use older and newer chips.  To see the differences, see my illustrated list of current Atlantic City chips.

NEWS:  I recently discovered that there were two variations of the edge print on the Traverse Bay (Michigan) $1 chips.  One style has a wider font.  Click here to see the two different styles.  I am not sure which style is older, but I have both for trade.

NEWS:  There are two styles of the $1 Derby Lane chip from Tampa, Florida.  The original issue has small inserts, and the later issue has large inserts.  Click here to see both styles.  I have both available for trade.
